My long-term research interests are in the areas of education, equitable access to basic needs, health research conduct, community development, human rights, human dignity and ethics/bioethics. I have more than 17 years in progressive management experience. I have extensive experience in clinical trial coordination, regulatory in clinical studies, Ethics review and research conduct.
I initiated the formation of Africa Bioethics Network which brings together multidisciplinary experts in different areas to promote dialogue, sensitization and action in tackling bioethical issues in Africa. As its chairperson, I have seen to its membership that spans over 30 countries. Additionally, I have experience in conducting research in the areas involving youth, mental health with extensive experience in clinical trial coordination (conducted 22 clinical studies), regulatory in clinical studies, ethics review and research conduct. I provided comprehensive study planning for trial-set up including resource planning and coordination, overseeing the ethical and regulatory applications in line with Good Clinical Practices /Regulatory standards, prepared Import permit applications, prepared, collated and make regulatory submissions to the relevant regulatory bodies and reviewed SOPs & Guidelines.
It is my utmost desire to impact the society with principles guided by ethics, human rights and human dignity across the globe and play a critical role in the future in terms of informing policy and legislation. This contribution will hopefully impact research, society and natural environment in a positive manner and enable a world that is cognizant of human rights and dignity, and our duties to others and the natural world. I have coordinated more 37 local and international conferences/trainings/seminars. I am a founding member of Africa Bioethics Network and at Girls Leading our World Initiatives - iGLOW, I oversaw the reach of more than 1250 girls, 1000 boys, 300 special needs (150 girls).
